SUMMARY:Film Shootings Cancelled on 20th March due to Nadigar Sangam Meeting
DESCRIPTION:All Kollywood film shootings scheduled for March 20 have been cancelled\, due to the 62nd Annual General Body Meeting of the Nadigar Sangam\, to be held on that day. \nThe meeting is scheduled to take place at Loyola College’s auditorium at 2 pm. As per a request by the Nadigar Sangam\, the Tamil Film Producers Council and FEFSI have announced that the shooting of all Tamil films will be cancelled on that day. \nThis is the first meeting of the Sangam after the election of the new office bearers in October 2015. The family members of late legendary actor PU Chinnappa will be felicitated at the meeting. A special video to mark his centenary year and an audio-visual on the Nadigar Sangam’s ongoing activities will be screened. A fully compiled directory of the members of the Nadigar Sangam will also be released. Apart from this\, a new website for the Nadigar Sangam will be launched at the event. \nWith President Nasser presiding over the meeting\, Vice-President Karunas will submit the annual report and the audited book of accounts for the year 2014-15. Treasurer Karthi will explain the financial plan\, and General Secretary Vishal will talk about the welfare measures that will be taken up for the members of the organisation in the future.

DESCRIPTION:With ‘Tharai Thappattai’\, Isaignani Ilaiyaraja has worked in 1\,000 films and this unprecedented and remarkable feat is being celebrated by the film industry members as well as other individuals and organizations in various manners. \nNow 100 leading artists have planned a unique tribute to Ilaiyaraja. They will be painting the music pieces of Raja’s individual symphony album ‘Nothing But Wind’ at Loyola College\, campus\, Chennai. The event will begin at 9.30 am on Saturday\, ie\, 12th day of March 2016. \nNadigar Sangam President and veteran actor-director Nasser\, director S.P.Jhananathan\, former students of Chennai Fine Arts College\, director Kadhir and director Pa.Ranjith will be participating in the event. \nA similar event was planned in the last week of January at another venue in Chennai but that could not take place due to various reasons.

DESCRIPTION:The first edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Utsavam awards function has began at Gachibowli in Hyderabad on Sunday morning\, and the who’s who of the South Indian film industry are attending this colourful event. \nOn its opening day\, the organisers of IIFA Utsavam 2016 honoured talents from Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Hundreds celebs from these industries walked the green carpet on the occasion. The event will see the talents from Telugu and Kannada film industries walking away with awards this evening. Malayalam movies “Premam” has topped the Mollywood winners list with four awards\, while “Ennu Ninte Moideen” landed in the second place.
