South Indian Cine Artistes’ Association (SICAA), popularly known as Nadigar Sangam, will soon have a new face to its existing office. The Nadigar Sangam committee led by actor Nassar and actor-producer Vishal has kept up its promise of constructing a new office space over a sprawling 19-ground area on Habibullah Road in the bustling vicinity of T Nagar. The cherry on the cake is that the foundation stone for the construction will be jointly laid by Superstar Rajnikant and Kamal Hassan on 31st March 2017 (Friday).
In a recent press release, the Nadigar Sangam committee expressed their relief over completion of plans on time and now they wish to complete the construction on time as well. They said, “We look forward to this journey and are glad to have received the support of so many of our members. We would also like to express our deep gratitude towards Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan for agreeing to come for the ceremony.”
The ambitious project boasts a 1000-seater auditorium, preview theatre, a wedding hall and the main office building of the Nadigar Sangam, is expected to cost Rs 26 Crores. Upon receiving the approval of the local corporation, a general council meeting of the Nadigar Sangam attended by all office-bearers, took a decision to lay the foundation stone on 31st March 2017(Friday). Rajini and Kamal would be heading the list of more than 3,000 artistes who would be handing over a brick each for the construction.
